Today felt like the beginning of a dystopian novel. I woke up at 10:30 and made pancakes and scrambled eggs. I got dressed and decided to for a run, mainly because I wanted an excuse not to do my homework. I ran down my street and up seminary road. When I got to Fort Ward Park I thought I’d go to the amphitheatre to do some stretches and quick exercises. As I ran to the amphitheatre, I noticed that the park was mostly empty except for an elderly couple wearing face masks and walking their dog. This was the first time that I had seen anyone wearing them in person. It was somewhat of a reality check for me. I came home after running a long 6 miles. My mom was watching the news, which of course was talking about the CoronaVirus. I was very tired from my run so I decided to take a nap. After my nap, my friend and I decided to get dinner at Cava. After dinner, we went to Target to see how truly chaotic it was. Unsurprisingly it was packed and there was no hand sanitizer to be found. I ended up buying a pint of chocolate ice cream and a scented candle.

Monday: VLOG

The distance learning plan began today. I woke and got ready as I would on any other morning, but instead of driving to school I sat at my dining room table. I had health class first. All I had to do was watch an introductory video and practice meditation. After that I had English with Dr. Klein. There were some technical difficulties in the beginning of class, but once everything was situated the class went by smoothly. I finished my day off with Spanish. We logged on to google chat and wrote an in-class essay. At roughly 11:30 I was finished with school and I went back to sleep. When I woke up, the sun was shining and it was a warm 65 degrees. I went on a walk with my mom and my dog. It was nice to get out of the house after being cooped up for so long. While the roads were somewhat empty, lots of people were walking, running, and biking. I finished my day working on homework and catching up on some Netflix.

Today felt the most like an actual school day. I started with my first class, chemistry which I had a test in. It felt weird taking a test in my bedroom, but it did make distance learning feel more like real school. I then had AP World where I worked on my research paper. Next I had math class which consisted of doing an edpuzzle and a worksheet. I then had journalism where we discussed our articles for this issue. I finished my school day by meeting with Ms. Fusina during stat. After school, I decided I’d freshen up on my cooking and baking skills. I made chicken stir fry for me and my mom and then made some brownies. After lunch I went for a long run with my friend. When we came back my parents wanted me to go to Safeway to get some more food and toilet paper. Safeway was really packed full with people trying to stock up their homes with food. It was quite overwhelming. I ended my day with a family dinner and I finished the batch of brownies from earlier.
